Debbie Daniels, a Stockport mum of two battled depression after losing her job in a care home. With a family to look after, Debbie tried to get another job but struggled to find something suitable.
“I shut myself off from everybody, including my family. Luckily, I sought medical help and being diagnosed with clinical depression proved to be the turning point. My Key Worker Janine understood exactly what I was going through, and she and her team spent a lot of time helping me come to terms with my anxiety and depression. Slowly I began to see there could be a future for me back in the career I loved most.”
Stuart Reid, 36, was out of work for five years and experienced severe depression, made worse by his fruitless job search. Three months later Stuart’s confidence soared.
"I went from having zero confidence and not wanting to leave the house, to earning my own money and rebuilding my self-respect. I was so nervous when I first attended but they eased my worries and helped in so many practical ways. I'm making new friends at work and feel like I have a purpose in life again. I'm looking forward to working my way onwards and upwards."
